I have R&R'd the dash in my 97 WS6. I can truly say it is a PITA!

This will test your patience to no end. Just be patient and careful. Most of the bolts are fairly obvious but some are not so obvious. I know that sounds kind of vague but I removed my dash w/o any instructions or previous experience or a manual and it took many hours but I did not break anything and it went back in with no problems.

One thing to note is that the steering collar below the dash is fastened to 2 studs that support the steering wheel/column. If you remove the 2 nuts on these studs and allow the steering column to freely hang this will greatly help to pull the dash.

There are alot of electrical connections and HVAC connections behind the dash. Just be sure to keep track of all of these and where they go!

I usually take a magic marker and label zip-lock bags and then put the appropriate nuts, bolts, hardware, or whatever in the labeled bags. This way when you go back to put the new dash in it will save you the headache of trying to figure out where which bolt goes where!

If you get caught at a certain spot feel free to ask me and I will do my best to help you. The dash R&R is still pretty fresh in my head.

I took my dash completely apart yesterday. It was an immense pain.. I didn't label too much, but thanks to Chilton's, I'm fairly certain I know where everything goes... Here's what you can look forward to:

I'm gonna put it all back together tomorrow.. I'll let you know if I come across a method that's easy...
