No measureable performance increase. The best thing to do is buy a "1LE" intake elbow from one of the discount GM parts dealers (less than $50). That one doesn't have the resonator tube at all, and is smooth on the inside... no hole. The only real advantage is that without the tube, the elbow is a lot easier to remove and install.

As far as MBA products in general, they are extremely well made.

Actually, plugging the resonator hole or switching to the 1LE elbow does make a difference. It doesn't do anything for HP, but it does allow the intake to produce a more throaty howl. The only function of the resonator in the first place was to reduce intake roar.
