I have been seeing different stories in my research about people removing the egr to save under hood heat and help aid in the oil leak. Is the removal of my egr a good idea?!! What are the benefits and damages of such a task?!

I left mine off. Welded the hole in the exhaust manifold, and pluged the holes in the intake manifold. Left the air pump off too, and welded those holes in the exhaust manifold.
I do occasionally get the SES lite at low rpm, but it goes away after a few minutes. When I get the PCM programed for my modifications, it will include an option for not setting the SES because of the EGR.The Old Guy! '94 z-28, m-6, t-tops, go-fast red, 316k. You can read some ramblings about the EGR here. Near the end are some thoughts about removal.Rob B 95Z A4 Tech Page (Part numbers / locations, how to's, schematics, DTC's...) Home Page - shbox.com
