I have a 9" Detroit locker,I am running Syntec gear oil,do I need an additive and if so which???

I honestly don't know, but I doubt it. It involves mechanical locking of rings with teeth on them, not friction clutches.Fred

Hmmm...I would also have to say no. Like Fred said, since there are no clutches, the additive is not necessary. Now, for a disclaimer...it won't hurt. I installed a Zexel Torsen diff. in mine. I was informed by Zexel that these units do not need the limited slip additive since they are gear driven. However, the said if I used the Redline synthetic diff. fluid, it already contained the additive. Since it does, it won't hurt (or help for that matter). CLutch packs require the stuff...gears could care less.
