  • F-Body VIN

I know its been discussed, and I went to search it, but VIN isn't acceptable as a search term... so...

There is a 98+ Camaro SS at a dealership here in town... I stopped by and looked at it, but it has no info on it... The VIN begins with 2G....... does this mean its an '02?
1996 Camaro- L36, 5 spd, intake, Pacesetter headers, Flowmaster 80 series

My name is George, and I am an audiophile.

Anyone interested in an Xtant X603 multi-channel amp? Let me know...

The 2G means it was manufactured in Canada and made by GM...

Goto this site to see most of the VIN numbers stand for but I am not sure what the years numbers are for the camaro after '99... So help...VIN web site from Firebirdv6.com
    Thanks

I have a question about the production sequence of model (digit 12-17) Is this a running total for the cars made that year? In other words does it start as 000001? Mine is 221716 and I am curious how late in the production year it came since '97 was the last year for this body style / motor. Thanks!
