Do you have to perform modifications to or change the computer when you put a different set of heads and put a different cam in the 93 LT-1's?

You would need a new "tune".... and in the 93's that means you would have to have a new plug-in chip made.

Depends on how radical the heads/cam are. There are "mail order" tuners.... they send you a questionaire to identify the specifics of your engine, then burn a chip and send it to you. If you are using some relatively common items, they will get it reasonably close.

If you are into "programming" you can buy a chip burner and software to burn your own.

okay, I am doing a TPI conversion in my car (look in the sig), and am going to buy all the stuff to burn my own chips. Will almost the same stuff work for my '93 ECM?
          my car:
'86 Caprice Classic. Soon to have a 350 crate motor. Shooting for 300rwhp.

          the project:
check the www for pics, but a '36 Chevy Master Sedan, MII front end, Jaguar IRS, '93 LT1 powerplant with plans for 350rwhp, and many many other goodies
