  • Hanging Caliper

My passenger rear caliper is hanging. I have changed the caliper, the caliper mounting bracket, the mounting bolts and all the brake lines from the wheel to the master cylinder. The thing is still hanging. I have had it at 5 dealerships. No one knows WTF is wrong.

    Anyone have any ideas?

So...... you replaced the caliper with a brand new one that is properly lubed, you replaced the rubber brake lines, you replaced the hard brake lines, eveything is correctly bled with no leaks, kinks or hard pedal and it still hangs up? My bet is the proportioning valve or master cylinder. Duh! (considering you haven't replaced those.) Just for kicks if you were to switch the rear brake connections at a justion block and re-bleed the system, does the other caliper now hang up? That would be a pretty simple test to see if the problem is indeed at the valve or master cylinder.

That's a good point with the junction block. I'll try it. Where is the proportioning valve located?
