  • TA Body kit?

Does anyone know about a body kit that looks to be a bolton to a standard firebird, but just makes it look like a TA? I saw a silver '98+ transam in a parking lot today, and i walked around it. It had the side skirt valence things, the front nose had a bolt-on valence/lip, and the back end also had the kind of bumper that goes down on both sides of the tailpipe. I thought it looked really nice.

But then, also today, I saw a "real" WS6 transam. It had the uplevel spoiler, but then all of its "bodykit" items (the sideskirts, front bumper valence, rear valence) were all molded into the parts themselves, they obviously weren't just bolted on like the silver TA i saw.

I'm not talking about the wings west kit either, that thing is awful looking.

humm...i personally like the OEM clean look...WWing Kits are fugly...but that's just me.

If you want to clean up and sharpen your apperance, you can always change your bumpers (front and rear) since there pretty much interchangable...it'll be a pretty penny. Side skirts shouldn't be too bad...

I know some V6's have an apperance package...chin spoiler, side skirts and rear valence...GM code W68 I believe.

I was just gonna get a formula when I picked up my 4th gen a year ago, but somein about base firebirds and formulas and seems to be missing...that's why I picked up a regular TA.

I agree, i think they just look tacky.

anyone know what kind of kit this is though? if this is the wings west, they should get kelly to take pictures for them because it looks much nicer on his car than in the wings west ads that i've seen....

I thought there was a factory appearance package that was an option on a firebird. It consisted of stuff like the ground effects, chrome wheels, specific exhaust tips and maybe a few other items. Anyone confirm or clarify?

BTW, that T/A is Kelly Drown's car. www.projecttransam.com and it is a Wings West kit.

I would go with the raised rear wing and chrome ZR1s on your car. It would look great especially with the hood you already have!!!

            Re: Re: TA Body kit?

Well I think we have our answer, thanks limteng99. it is the W68 appearance package they put on the V6 firebirds.

I dunno about it. What do you guys think? Would it look good in black on my formula? Maybe just the sideskirts...

Do you mean the raised TA spoiler? Only way to do that is to buy an all new TA hatch assembly. Waaay too much money just to have a spoiler 2" higher than mine is

and i specifically did not want chrome wheels, thats why i got the silver C5 ones. I put zaino on them and boy in the sun they shine real bling-like.

Opps!, I feel stupid , I didn't read that you had already replaced the wheels; I thought they were the silver painted stock 16"s. That kit is pretty nice...I think your car would look really nice with it. The rear T/A deck-lid can be acquired fairly inexpensively from a salvage yard..., but I am partial to it...probably more then other people. I really like the looks of Ken & Mary's Firehawk!
