Sounds reasonable......I know the 4L60s do have line pressure issues - which is ONE of the reasons they are a weak unit. I have burned through many 4l60E's and 700's but I dont think it was from downshifting - just regular old upshifting with lots of power. Actually, I built a 700R4 a few years back with a full manual valve body and it still lives (upshifting and downshifting) to this day. Of course, the governor was modified wide open and we added a bunch of other mods to the internals to make it a bit beafier and boost line pressure, but nothing crazy.
