  • New Here

New to this board. I found it while browsing around at work. I do see some familiar screen names though......

    *Edit*

And I must say that after a few minutes of looking around, I'm shocked to not see the typical internet bickering like you find on a lot of other boards. Amazing. This seems to be top notch.

Welcome! What is your F-bod owner history? How many have you had? What kinds of work on them have you done yourself? What sorts of experience do you have?

This is by far the best F-body forum on the net. We are always on troll patroll. There is a ton on knowlege here, being shared freely for everyone. Enjoy.

Here is what I've noticed.... Many owners fit in the stereotypical f-body owner profile. That is typically a crude, rude redneck profile, or disrespectful with a bad attitude. The folks on this message board are an oasis away from that profile. It is nice to see other enthusiasts that are a bit more civilized and polite. It is all about respect for the people and the cars.

http://home.comcast.net/~fastbird and look at the My Past Rides page. That should say it all.

First car was an 84 Firebird SE
                  Next was a 91 GTA T/A
                  Next was a showroom new 99 T/A
                  Then my black 93 T/A
Last summer came my Purple Pearl 93 T/A.

Yes, I have two, and will be purchasing a LS1 WS6 once I pay off the purple one.

I've done the complete exhaust system on the black car, as well as a opti swap, and general maintenance. Pulled the fuel rails, ect. I had a head/cam package done last summer consisting of a 224/230 112* Comp XE grind and Joe Prince RAcing heads. Car laid down 375/363 at the wheels on a somewhat lean tune up top through a full exhaust with a cat. Unfortunately, it dropped comression on two cylinders due to detonation, so I've got a forged 355 (except for the crank) going together with a custom cam. I would be doing to install and removal myself, but like with the Head/cam package, I just don't the time, cetain tools, and most importantly the room to facilitate such a endeavour in my one car garage.

The purple pearl 93 car I bougth last summer off of an acquaintance from another board. It sits like it was bought, for a paltry $6000. Hotcam kit, nice ported heads, Mac headers, cat-back consisting of flowmaster pipes with a dynomax muffler, T-56 swap, 97 gauge cluster and console, Corbeau Targa seats, K&N CAI, and some other stuff. It's pretty much done with the exception of a cat-back (I need something other than turn-downs) and some tuning. Laid 340/366 on the dyno with a 14.5 A/F @ WOT.

All this info and more is on my website, posted above and in my sig -- TWO Fast Birds.

I've noticed an explosion of that typical F-Body driver you mentioned above lately, mainly due to the rising affordability of these cars. It's inviting the wrong people into the scene, which is dragging a lot of guys down. I'm very glad to see that there's a board who maintains a strict set of rules and doesn't give people 50,000 chances to screw up.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

                      "Active Duty USAF KC-10 Boom"

I crawled in a KC10 and a KC135 at an air show and laid down at the boom controls. It was funny watching people walk underneath me looking up.

Speaking of air shows, to my buds in the Atlanta area, The Dobbins air show is May 8th and 9th. The blue Angels will be there too. First time for them since 1987. Bring your suntan lotion and a lot of film or memory sticks.
