  • '03 Rousch Stage 2 Mustang spec?

A woman at work as a 2003 Rousch Stage 2 Mustang. I don't know enough about these cars. Can anyone give me some specs: hp, torque, 1/4 mile, 0-60, etc... It's a 5 speed, no additional mods done other than the rousch stuff. Anyone know? I'm guessing I wouldn't be much of a match for it with a basically stock 97 WS6 (filter and cat-back).

Am I reading this right that the Stage 2 is basically a body kit and suspension package... with cold air induction and side exhaust? Essentially no performance mods other than the suspension stuff? I was thinking the Rousch Stage 2 was supercharged, stroked.... something highly modified. Maybe I was thinking of Saleen.

She's always talking big about her car at work, everyone at work thinks her car is the sh*t because of the way it looks (and of course the Mustang name). I've always defended the f-body name saying I'd be able to take her (no one ever listened).... now maybe I'll have to go out and prove it.

From what I have seen the Rousch Mustangs are pretty over rated. Like you already saw most of them are stage 1 or 2 whcih is essentially just for looks.

Stage 3 gives you the supercharger and other go fast goodies but it is also $17,000 +. No thanks, I can find more effective ways to spend that much $$$$.

Just watch out for those Roush V6's. HAHAHA

Roush has models with a 3.8 V6. Once again, mostly appearance mods. But they look really fast.

The Rousch cars are all looks. Not to mention, the Stage 2 negates any power added by the increased weight of body parts. Now the Stage 3, while supercharged, is pretty quick. However, it's also absurd as a 03 Cobra is not only quicker, but much less expensive and also a bit lighter. It blows my mind why Rousch would even bother. Why would anyone spend nearly $50K on a Stage 3 when for $15K less, you can have a Cobra? The Stage 2 is even sillier. $10K for looks...bwaaaahhhh!!!!

I happened to work for Roush, and can testify that certain models are a little bit pricey for what they entail. However, the Stage 3 is a very well sorted out piece, and this is really what you are paying for. It really can be optioned to be a brutal street car, and a very capable autocross vehicle. In terms of straight line performance, Roush stang's have been known to pull alongside LS1's in the quarter (low 13's, some nicking high 12's), while holding an edge in handling.

As far as Ford products go, the Roush stang is about the most sorted out pony car to date, and they are capable of taking down our F-bods, so don't snicker if one comes up to a light next to you.

Stage 2 is a joke.... For $9800.00 you get some looks and maybe an extra 20 hp.... That is a total joke... What a waist of money...

I could only imagine what I could do with $9800.00,,,,!!! Can anyone say Lingenfelter!!! Now thats the real deal....

Now I remember why I didn't become a Mustang guy!
