Kumho is pulling the ECSTA V710 Competition Tire from the market and is suspending its ale following "inconsittent" test results, Kumho stated..............

the tire was just introduced Jan 1... the test results showed "something wrong with tread splice and tread area durability:...........

yikes.

Kumho will replace them free of charge with either the ECSTA V700 or Victoracer tire.

customers will also get a certificate for a free set of the V710 "when" its sold again.

My ride came with brand new Cooper Cobra GTZ P245/50R16 97 W when I bought it last Summer.

What fortune do the tire gods have for this brand? Anything to worry?

Cooper is a sleeping giant. i am good friends with the Technical manager of Cooper...Lyle Campbell, for many years. thier tires ...the A line..which is what you have...are some of the best made in the world. dont worry.

I haven't heard much good or bad about Cooper tires on this board so I wasn't sure how they rate.

Haven't had much driving either to see how they perform.

Hmmm...something to think about. Geez...I just need a decent all weather tire for somewhere between CDN $400-700. I would also like for them to be nice lloking, which is why I liked the look of the Kumho's directional tread pattern. My car, being that it is a V6 doesn't have to stand up to alot of hard launches or much hard cornering (well, al ittle here and there ) so I don't think I need any high dollar tires, just some that will last longer than the stockers did (3 years ) and will look cool.
