  • Ford Lightning race, sort of funny...

Okay, so I was on my way home yesterday on the interstate and I was humming along doing about 70mph or so in my 97' Formula when I saw a Ford Lightning ahead of me that was carrying something in the bed. When I got closer, I saw that he was carrying Dirt or some type of gardening stuff.... anyway, I passed by him and the back of his truck was sitting down because of the wieght.... I just kinda laughed and went on ahead... Well, I guess mister ford guy thought he would humilate me and try to pass me... so he got right on my tail and stayed there for a few minutes. I pulled over into the other lane and sped up just a little bit to see what his intentions were... at this point I heard him kick it down, so I was like No Way a Ford Truck carrying dirt is going to pass me and then brag to his friends that he killed a F-body while hauling dirt.... so I kicked it down too.... Anyway, he never got past my back bumper and I left him behind, only took it up to 95mph or so, when I looked back he must have done something wrong because I saw some black smoke coming out of his pipes.... not very smart on his part.... Later on I pulled off the interstate and he gave me a thumbs up. Atleast he was a good sport.... not that he had a chance carrying dirt.... lol....

Oh yeah, don't burn me to bad guys, it was just me and him on a small straight stretch on the purchase parkway in KY..... so I didn't endanger anybody.... just thought it was funny....

    ONLY 95 huh?

That's alot of speed. Be careful when you do that, I've seen to many horrible accidents happen with a slight twitch of mistake at much lower speeds than 95. I'm not talking about you man, but some people think they're invinsible, when we're really just fragile creatures.

Okay, lets invision this. A 2001 to 2003 Ford Supercharged Lightning carrying a big load of dirt going down the interstate with its rear-end sitting to the ground.... that by itself is sort of funny, next, the Ford guy is not very smart and tries to race a 97' Formula while carrying the dirt.... Very Funny... because he must not care for the well being of his vehicle... thats just plain stupid to do that.... Also, I thought if he passes me while going faster, that dirt, rock, whatever might come out and hit my car, def. not cool.... So I floored it and showed him the error of his thinking..... hence funny..... I'm not trying to start a flame, I thought I would just share a funny story with you guys.... Also, yes 95mph is fast, and I know this isn't Germany, but nobody was around, and I thought its a bright shiny day, I have excellent tires, I check my car everyday, I am an experienced driver who knows the chances... lets have some fun after a hard days work, as long as it doesn't hurt anybody else..... Anyway, proven fact... the audobahn has less wrecks than any other recorded highway in America... because people are actually paying more attention because of the speed they are going... and they exceed 110mph on the norm.... I didn't take offense Fast Mother, just give me the benefit of the doubt dude.... I realize what speed can do... and if you haven't been over 95, I think you would be fibbing to everybody....

Keep it cool bro.... I just wanted to drop a funny story.

That's cool man, I didn't mean to call you out or anything, I was speaking about the more inexperienced drivers that not only do foolish things to put themselves in harms way, but many many innocent people. It so sad to everyday get home, turn on the news, and hear of the next car accident that killed a family of 4 on the central expressway.

        Speed's cool in sole-moderation. Peaceout!

Tight! Actually, it's more the Richardson/Mckinney area neighboring Dallas...I live in Plano. I don't know about where all of you live, but these streets here offer some competition!

When I was driving my sister's Z (yes, my sister has a Z also...no, you can't have her...she's married lol), two stupid kids pulled up in a Lightning thinking they were hot. For some reason, they thought I would race when I was in the left-turn lane. Not the brightest bulbs in the burnt-out Ford pack. I agree with you man. Granted, racing should be kept to the strip...but screw that guy, seriously! lol
