  • Ram air question,please help

I recently changed my induction system to a SLP ram air. I already have a 52mm throttle body with the air foil. Would I be wasting my money to go with a 58mm. I have a NX direct port kit, heads, cam, etc. I still have my stock mass air flow sensor, screen and all. please help....

What else has been done to the engine? I did dyno tuning of my setup on an engine dyno, where we could measure air flow. With:

    -381ci engine
    -making close to 500HP
    -capable of more than 7,000RPM
    -58mm TB

..... the airflow essentially max'd out at 77% throttle opening. IOW, that engine didn't need a 58mm TB.... it would have been just as happy with a 52mm TB. If you are making something in excess of that, the 58mm TB might be cost effective, but otherwise, you could spend you money more effectively elsewhere.

In addition to the $350-425 cost of the 58mm TB, you would have to have the intake mainfold bores opened up to 58mm.

I agree with Fred. The $400-$470 would be better spent on going with a bigger injector. It sounds like you are fairly close to a max duty cycle given your setup.

To what extent are the heads ported? How big is the cam? What size shot of juice?
