  • control arm relocation brackets?

Are the control arm relocation brackets really necessary if the car has been lowered, or is this just another one of those parts that are nice, but not necessary?

Are they really needed? No. However, when you lower the chassis, the lower control arm attachment point becomes less than favorable for dragstrip traction and the result is wheel hop. The relocation brackets lower the rear attachment point, provide better leverage for a proper rear reaction on launch.

You should buy them if you want to hook. If that's not a concern, then you can pass.

      Hi,
I am new sponsor for f-body.com and we produce and sell the lower control arm relocation brackets. If you would like any info on them or pictures/install pictures just email, I will be glad to help. Also here is a ebay link that will give you some info on how the brackets can help you and what they look like.

We def recommend these on any lowered cars, but they also help non-lowered cars tremendously too. Thanks! Ryan

I agree they are only necessary on a lowered car if you want "traction" . I run them on a car that's actually a little taller than stock because of the drag launch springs. The Spohn relocation brackets worked wonders - couldn't hook without them.

For quality parts, go direct to:

        Spohn Performance

A proven source, there when you need them for tech assistance of EXCELLENT customer service. Steve Spohn is an AWS certified welder, and all parts are produced directly in his shop, under his immediate supervision. Few other suppliers can make this claim.

Almost all of my suspension upgrades are from Spohn:

I have 315's out back and it is really easy to break em loose without even power braking. However, I dont have that that kind of power in my car to just smoke up tires like that, its the fact that my car is lowered and has the stock suspension components that Im able to do that. But hopefully soon Ill be getting my LCA Relocation brackets.

lol, thats great to hear, you can always buy a new clutch. $65 sounds good, it takes a good welder to get them right and make them look nice, but they will last a life time.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help with, I apprecite the business!
