I was just curious as to what the difference is between: Small Block, Big Block, Long Block, and Short Block?
I was just curious as to what the difference is between: Small Block, Big Block, Long Block, and Short Block?

Small block vs. Big Block:
It pretty much boils down to the simple size of the motor, with stroker kits and other items, it has nothing to do with displacement.
Long Block vs Short Block:
As far as I understand it a Long block is a complete motor (ie with heads/cam/intake/roller rockers/ the full top end)
A short block is just the bottom end, consisiting of a block, crank, basically everything below the heads...
These are how I understand the terms, someone else may have a better understanding and/or defintions.
