  • LS1 life expectancy

Here's something I have always wondered about-- what would be the life expectancy of an LS1 under moderate use with no unnecessary abuse etc...
I know these engines are generally made well... but at the same time, higher power implies faster wear.
sure, it's a pretty simple question, but what would you guys say

that is very hard to say, but I would say that a LS1 being moderately driven, and have a perfect record of maintence, would be able to top 200k easy.

Now, thats the LS1 motor. Chances are, a lot more stuff will break before then, or at least need to be rebuilt and all.
    my car:
'86 Caprice Classic. Soon to have a 350 crate motor. Shooting for 300rwhp.

    the project:
check the www for pics, but a '36 Chevy Master Sedan, MII front end, Jaguar IRS, '93 LT1 powerplant with plans for 350rwhp, and many many other goodies

Hmm, sounds good to me... a friend from high school had a TA with an LT1 that managed to do high 13s even after 150k miles, and the only major thing that happenned to him was that he blew out his rear end... *shrug*
