So I am looking to buy some tires in the next couple of weeks and I just got a quote on some Falken 235/55R-16's for $150 each (Canadian). The guy said they are a good tire, but I was wondering what you guys think of Falkens as a brand. I can't remember which "model" tire they were, but they were V-rated and had a nice agressive looking tread pattern.

tire question
Hi there
For that kind of money I would go with Firestone SZ50's. I have only heard great things about them, and they are my next tire!!!!

I would go with something in a 245/50/16 size. Better performance and you'll probably have a wider selection of tires to choose from. I highly reccomend Tirerack.com You can browse and search by tire category, brand, speed raring. They have reviews from people who have used them, pics of the tread pattern, and you can't beat their prices.Dave M

Yeah, see....I would go with the SZ50's, but they would be well over $200 here. If I was living in Texas (My home State) right now, then I would get the firestones, but with the exchange rate, just a set of Kumhos would be $135/pc. So, I think I am going to take Dave M.'s advice and try to get a set of the Falkens in a 245/50 size. I tried that OK tire website, but the closest one is 2-1/2 hours away from me, so I am just going to get them here in town at Kal-Tire. Thanks for the help guys!

Check out this link. I'm sure there's other sites like this. It has customer comments / ratings on the Falken's.

I remember the Falken's way back when I still lived overseas. But I couldn't tell you how they were rating at the time.
