  • Finally got burned in a parking lot...

Well, sooner or later it was going to happen.

...Especially in this stupid town full of stupid morons... (sorry just blowing off steam)

I just washed and waxed my car, got her looking good again. I went to the grocery store to pick up some drinks for tonight... I wasn't in the grocery store for more than 20 minutes. I come out and there is a large dent on the passenger side rear quarter panel. It happens to be perfect height to a shopping car, too...

...some careless idiot smacked me good, and didn't even give the courtesy of leaving a note. Hey thanks a lot, chief!

Sorry man...i know how you feel. At school someone backed into my camaro's driver door and tore a hole in it. Hit and run to. So I get that fixed to have a shopping cart hit right behind the driver door. My awsome luck huh

Yeah that sucks. Well I heard that story that somebody watch a car hit another in the parking lot. The person driving the car got out and looked at the damage. He returned into the car, wrote a note, stuck it under the windshield wiper of the damaged car and drove away.

So everybody thought that he left his name and phone #. All it said on the paper was:

I wish you a nice day and have a save drive home.

I was parked prett far away, actually...

I should add that this ding was obviously intentional, unless a cart rolled UPHILL into it.

I'm really sorry to hear that. That just drives me nuts.

About 20 years ago, I parked my old Dodge at the bowling ally which was at the bottom of a hill. It was actually under a grocery store. When I came out, there was a shopping cart laying in 2 pieces and a huge dent in the left rear quarter panel. It hit so hard the flip up piece where the ked seat is actually bent and came off the cart. It must have been doing 30 mph when it hit my car. The cart was totaled. My car was not. LOL

Man I hate that!!! Problem is I always try to park far away in the parking lot where no one else is and yet nearly every time I come out there is some idiot parked next to me!!! I think they do it on purpose just to tick us off!!!!!!! Had a shopping cart at Lowes slam into the left rear bumper only two weeks after a new paint job!!!!!!

That seriously sucks man! I feel your pain brotha! Quick question though Jay, had the person who did it actually left a note on your car with all the proper info, what would your attitude be towards the person? Would you be all pissed at him or her, or would you be really courteous, and helpful. The reason I ask is that seeing how often this happens, it makes really appreciate the people with the integrity to take responsibility for their actions. I think that if someone did the same thing to my car again, and left a note, I would help pay for some of the damages just out of gratitude. The last two times I got hit, I bought the original pieces from the dealer and applied my dealer discount as a courtesy to the persons who hit me and were paying from their pocket. Moreover, sorry to hear that jay! Are you considering a grocery getter now?

Seeing as how I am pretty sure this was an intentional act (because my car was parked uphill from the side of the car that got hit ) I would expect there to not be a note. But, if this was somewhow an accident, yeah, I would be very thankful of the person for leaving a note...

that sucks! I work at a grocery store so I'm always looking for better places to park.. far FAR away from the little cart-corral things.. I used to push the carts and I'd see a LOT of cars getting hit, and no one ever stopped to leave a note or anything.

One time an older lady in an Accord hit my line of carriages when I was pushing them in. She just took off... I was fine, but what if I would have gotten hurt or something... that pissed me off.

Yeah, I already filed a report with Meijer risk management... although I was told they rarely pay. We'll see what happens.

I also notated on the report "appears intentional, possible request for sureillance footage?"
