I had my car dyno'd yesterday at a club meeting - not bad:

    330.9 RWHP

    344.8 RWTQ

I can't believe how flat the torque curve is on the LS1 - I can scan and post the graph if anyone wants to see it.

I have to admit it was a little scary watching someone run it to 140 MPH but man was it worth it - that was fun! I am already itching again to do something else -

    Dyno'd 4/24: 330.9 RWHP/ 344.8 RWTQ (Before cam, headers, and pulley)

    Dyno'd 5/1: 383.5 RWHP / 380.5 RWTQ (393 actual RWHP)

Right after my car was done a guy put his S2000 on there. The comments from the people watching were funny. There was still a buzz about the numbers mine generated being so close to stock and someone yelled out:

"what do you think the S2000 will do?"

      shouted reply:

      "127" - LOL

      It actually turned 191 RWHP.

I guy put a 2003 Mustang Saleen S281 on the dyno. Looked really nice. He got 308 or 309 RWHP out of it.

This is why that thing can't break into triple digits for a trap speed...

$45K for nice rims and a body kit...

        NICE NUMBERS Casey!

The dyno tech said he couldn't get the Mustang to pull redline? Not sure if it was in third or fourth - but at any rate it couldn't get to redline. It did look nice but like Jay said a lot of money for appearance. I thought they were super charged - but I think that one is even more $$. Best of all - the guy's plates:

"VT EATER" - huh? what kind of vette?

          It did look awesome though!

I am guessing that was the supercharged one, Casey...

That seems right about in line with the supercharged S281 that I went up against a couple weeks ago. His best run of the day was a 13.5. When he went against me he ran a 13.9 @ 98...

            ... yeah... Vette killer indeed

He was hovering around 13.8 all day long.

Man that is funny - I heard someone say it was supercharged but after those numbers I was thinking no way. We've seen the Cobra numbers didn't think it was possible for it to be that low. The Saleen is a supercharged 4.6 liter though vs 5.4 on the Cobra - is that correct? Wow I would be disappointed big time then if that's all I got out of a supercharged V8.

The SVT Cobra is still a 4.6L supercharged V8.

Unless you are talking about the super-rare Cobra Rs... those were 5.4L 32 valve, DOHC V8s... but were N/A.

EDIT: I would also like to add that I think the SVT Cobra is better looking than the Saleen... and when it puts out 60 more RWHP and costs about 10K less... you gotta be a real tool to choose the Saleen over it.

Learn something every day - thought the Cobra was a 5.4 - makes their numbers even more impresive in my mind - maybe I was confusing the GT - that is a 5.4 liter supercharged (unless I am mistaken on that one too ).

Any way you cut it - LS1 is pretty impressive.

Also, I got to hand it to the Corsa exhaust - another guy in the club dyno'd his - 01 WS6 - with an LS6 intake - basically same car with a cutout bypassing the exhaust system - got the same numbers almost exactly. He also ran a 12.9 1/4 - so I guess I have something to shoot for!
