anyone live in cali?

i was just wondering if anyone lived in cali or knew the rules about smog

i know they say if a car is 25 years or older it doesnt have to be smogged..but is that 25 years from the say today or 25 years from a certain date?

i live in so cal
the rules on smog as far as i know are anycar that is 30 years or older to date does not need to be smogged, i know this b/c before i got my t/a i had an 1972 elcamino in 2002 and that was the newest car with out smog anyone could get(1972 year car)

so today you can get a car that is 1974 or older and not have to smog it
