  • Wireing for a hitch

I bought a kit to do the wireing for a hitch, as anyone done it before... or know the color code... or even where the wires are?

I believe the wires are in the rear bumper??

It's a 93 camaro Z28, I have to put on a *temporary* hitch to take all my stuff from reno back to Vegas. And being on a college students budget, im trying to do most of the work myself.

Shoot me an email at Xcopcar@aol.com if somebody doesn't respond here. I can tell you how to do it, but it takes up a lot of board space. Also, keep in mind that our cars can only tow about 1500 pounds, so by the time you factor in the trailer weight you will be really limited on what all you can carry. My bike, trailer, and tools max out the towing capacity of my car. And that's an open trailer too. Enclosed trailers weigh considerably more. I suggest getting a truck or a Uhaul and towing the car behind it. It will save you a lot of time, although it will cost a bit more.

Email sent... Its iazulojoi@msn.com. Thanks again for the help. I have a Hypertech ThermoMaster chip for the LT1, how will that affect towing? Better, worse?

I've got to get my rear carpet out before I can help you.

Let me tell you this in advance, if you have absolutely no electrical experience at all, you probably do not want to tackle this one. You'd be better off (and safer) by paying somebody to do it.
