    London Bound!

    It's an exciting time for me this weekend...

    Tomorrow I officially graduate Hope College. Then, I load up a U-Haul and drive back across the state home to Clarkston. (I'm gonna be living at home once I start my job to save some money for a while). I will be catching a flight from Detroit Metro to London Heathrow at 7:00 PM (stop-over in Chicago to switch planes).

    I'll be in London for three weeks on a May term, experiencing all the culture. I'll have lots of pictures for y'all when I get back. I'll probably be in touch every now and again from internet cafes over there...

    ... but this is a close to one chapter of my life, and a beginning to another. I'm really excited!

    London is a lot of fun. Make sure to go to the Tower Museum (next to the tower bridge) and the British Museum. They have some amazing stuff. Have a great trip!

              Hey, I was in Manchester last week, and also Altringcham. What a difference from here. I took some pictures of Smart cars which I'll post later - they make a Civic look big. I was in London in '99 and it makes you feel like Alice in Wonderland - matter of fact I had an ale at the Mad Hatter. One thing, though - London is EXPENSIVE. They charge $8/day just to drive in the city. In the rest of England, a pound buys about the same as a dollar does here, but $1.8=1 pound and their salaries aren't any higher to make up for it. I kind of feel sorry for those guys over there - we really do have it much better here in most ways. Gas was 77pence/liter which is about $5.50/gal.
