  • Source for carbon fiber SS hood (93-97)???

Anyone know a source for a carbon fiber SS-style hood for 93-97 Camaro? George's 30th SS isn't fast enough.. he want to lose some weight

I did a search and found an old post by someone who indicated he found a source, but he hasn't posted here since November. I PM'd and e-mailed him. No response yet.

    Any leads would be appreciated.

    TIA
    Fred

      Thanks!!

I've e-mailed them with my questions. Appears they are willing to go even lighter on custom-made pieces. With the amount of money sunk into this car already, a $1,000 hood is not an issue.

Fred, I think both of these companies sell what you are loking for:

The VFN hoods are fiberglass, and their "SS" style hood is a 3" high-rise. He wants the "stock" look.

Composite Shop looks like a possibility, but of their pages works, except to indicate "under construction". I'll try contacting them.

            Thanks,

I was under the impression that VFN also manufactured carbon products but just didn't advertise them.

Has he considered going with a composite plastic hood. Their weights are very similar to carbon fiber but for half the price.

I'm assuming he wants to stay "bolt-on" ?
