  • Passenger sun visor broke.

The sun visor fell into the car last fall, and I just left it. I unscrewed the clamp that holds it in last week, and the retainer that holds the spring broke off (this is kind-of-a POS way of putting this together!) Anyhow, is there a good fix for this? It doesn't look like I could thread it and put a nut on it. I don't exactly know the best procedure for this. Anybody have this problem? ...fix?

I had the same problem. After I had moved up here to canada, I was driving the vehicle inspector in the car ( I guess they require you to do so ) and he went to put the sunvisor in the down position and it came off in his hand. So I failed that part of the inspection. Anyway, luckily the car was still under warranty then, so the local dealership fixed it for me. Sorry I can't be of any help. Maybe call or go to a dealership and ask them?

My dealer cost on it is $55.00. I replaced both of mine on my Z just after I purchased it last year.

The sunvisors are a highly abused item, I would recommend just admiting defeat and getting a new one. It would be really hard to find one in nice shape on a parts car.

Maybe Billy Graham's F-body salvage has a perfect one?
