  • The beer thread

After a little over a week here in London, it has come to my attention that the beer in the States is, well, rubbish (learning the lingo, hehehe...).

If you enjoy a brew every now and again, post some of your favorites, and if you know of any European beers that I really need to try while I am over here, give me a recommendation

    So far, I have enjoyed:
    Fuller's London Pride
    Staropramen
    Boddington's
    Well's Bombardier
Bass (I know it is in the States too, but I love it)
    Carlsberg
Carling (this tastes just like Miller, it wasn't good)
and also Scrumpy Jack and Strongbow cider which both get the thumbs up...

Well, my credits are about to expire here, so I gotta post this... talk to you gents later.

OH MY GOD, MAN!!! Do yourself a favor... go buy a six pack of Blue Moon or Bass tonight...

these are not thick dark beers... they just aren't watered-down crap tasting macro-brews.

If you ever get to Aruba, try Amstel Bright. Sierra Nevada is a good ale.

So you're only 18... your tastes will change...

In a couple years you'll appreciate the good beers.

Well, when I was there I had a pint of Director's. Also had another that I can't remember the name of. Good that you're having fun - Jay, what does your new job entail besides goofing off in London and pub crawling?

Here are a few of my favorites:

Guiness draught - it tastes even better straight from a fresh tap.

Samuel Smith (English) Oatmeal Stout - an incredible stout with hints of dark chocolate.

Most German beers are excellent - (excuse the spelling) Dincklacker, Hefewessin (general term for wheat beers), any beer from Munich or Bavaria,

Harps- a very easy drinkin' brew

Boddingtons and Carlsberg are very good

Warsteiner - one of my personal favorites...a good amber, easy to drink.

Guiness all the way, Newcastle and Tadcaster are also good. I've been told by many people that have visited England that these beers are also much tastier in England than they are in America. Try as many different beers as u can while your there for sure!
