  • How many problems in one weekend?

Well, on top of the different noise coming from the rear, and my A/C crapping out, I noticed when I went out for a drive today that when in low gears and accelerating, it felt like my tranny was about to come through the floor. I already knew what it was, so I went up to O'Reilly and got a new tranny mount ($7.99+tax). 30 minutes later it is fixed. At least everything was smooth with this fix, as was the driveshaft changeout. The A/C problem scares me though. I'm almost positive it's the compressor. I'm almost afraid to think how much the total for that job is gonna come to. I still can't believe I've dumped over 3 grand in it in the short 6 months I've had it. Oh well, another day...another dollar gone (that I don't really have in the first place)

someone backed into mine today. Not too happy. Not too much damage, but the airbag light is on and my front bumper clip is all spider webbed now. His fault, so im not too worried about it. Figures the one day out of the whole week i decide to drive the camaro and not the extreme it gets hit. so it will stay parked more often now. Even on nice days.

Yea, when i did mine just recently they wanted $700+ for the compressor, instillation, coolant, charging the system... blah blah blah. Luckily my uncle can do all the charging n stuff, so i got off with a $380 bill for the unit and instillation. What i would reccomend is starting to look on ebay before it goes out, or get one of the part books to see what other cars (if any) have the same unit, and if u can use one of those (might be cheaper). They also have a pulley, so u can replace the compressor w/ the pulley.

My car is starting to overheat, It cools down a little as long as im driving, but when i stop the temp creaps back up again. Its not the thermostat, i already replaced that... anyone have an idea what it could be? (55,000 miles on my 93)

Are your fans coming on? I had that problem on my 95 formula. Never did figure it out. Just ran the ac in traffic in hot weather. That will automatically run your fans......Good luck

I've already made up my mind to purchase everything new and top of the line when something goes out on my z28. The only time I don't is if the part is critical for it to run, and I don't have the money for the best. I can definately do without A/C for a little while (I did for the past 3 years on other vehicles). I just wish everything didn't happen at once so I could have the money to get the best. Oh well, you know the saying, sh-- happens.
