96 formula car will start has fuel pressure replace ingnition module coil opti spark spark plugs and wires car was running great then all of sudden it just stalled no warning like i turned the key off here is what is wierd it will resart sometimes rightaway other times it has to sit it will turn over and nothing like no spark or fuel now if i turn the key to on the fuel pump will run for 3 to 5 secs then shut off like normal but then it will start turn turn off and by itself with the key on and the rpm needle will wiggle the pump just seems to go crazy or i should say the all things that go with turning the key on now i am figuring since i have spark and fuel that its the computer or the security system or the igniton switch itself i am tired of chasing i replaced the coil and module today everything else was done as a routine tune up when the opti went south a couple of months ago it does not seem like the spark and the injectors are being told to engage when this happens from testing things but then it will fire and run great drove it around town actually thought i fixed it then went out to start it later it started up i went to back out and it died like before so any help would be grateful thank you

First of all, you need to figure out how to use punctuation. I had to read that 3 times to figure out what you were saying.

Second, it sounds like a ground. If the gagues are jumping and stuff "is acting weird" then it probably a ground problem or some other sort of electrical gremlin.

If it's not that, then you need to get a fuel pressure gauge on it and watch what it's doing while you drive. If it just dies but maintains 30-40 PSI of pressure, then it's not the fuel system. That is the ONLY way you can accurately check it.

It sounds to me like one of two things, either a bad ground somewhere, or the VATS system is going haywire and cutting the fuel pump off.

sorry about the puntuacation now the only gauges going crazy is the rpm needle wiggles very little. now when the fuel pump turns off and on i can here also here the relays clicking so it seems like i am turning the key off and on, but i am just leaving it on car has been running great up until yesterday no service lights at all like security or service engine soon checked for some of the obvious grounds they were ok

The gauge cluster gets it's power from the ignition switch. If the gauges start doing odd things, combined with an intermittant start, my bet is the ignition switch. Here's a thread that will help:
