  • Oil Pump

I just changed oil and fliter. (Mobil one of course) and my oil pressure is still dropping when if I get on it and will never break 40 psi. I never drop below 20 but if I get on it it'll hold 40 for a little bit then drop to 20 so I'm gonna check the oil pressure with a different guage tonight and if that doesn't work new oil pumps going in. I have a haines manual but any advice on tricks for getting it in and where should I get my pump from and what kind?

man..be carefull. several lt1 folks, including me...spun a bearing or two. the shaft on the pump developed a hairline crack in it where it mounts to the pickup..allowing the pickup to tilt back on hard acceleration... mine sucked air for a split second and spun #8 rod bearing........ several folks reported the symtoms you are describing before they had a prob. might wanna check it out real good.......
