  • NFB - Weather radio - everybody please read

I'm sure some of you already know about these things. I've had one of these for several years and I'm very happy with it. If you don't have one, you should get one. Don't let a tornado sneak up on you in the middle of the night. That's what happened to me. It hit about 5 miles north of my house. It slammed right into not 1 but 2 of our buildings that were separated by about a mile. It hit at 12:30 am. I saw it coming a couple of hours earlier and tried to stay awake. It didn't work. The TV woke me up beeping. It was hitting work when I woke up. These things can save your life. I bought one the next day.

These use the S.A.M.E. encoding. These will only alert you when your county is alerted.

My wife bought one right after 9/11, along with a bunch of other survival stuff.

Now that we moved back down to Florida, I set it up in our kitchen, wall mounted, and has its own battery back up.

So far its great for the marine weather report.
