  • Camaro body kit - Ricey?

Hey guys, my friend with a Z is considering getting this body kit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=36475
I do not think it is ricey. What is your opinion?

There are several pictures. Some are terrible, some are OK.

      to ricey for my standards.
To many holes and hard edges. I am more of a smooth and clean person. Plus, its going on a very smooth car, and it just doesn't look very good IMHO.
      my car:
'86 Caprice Classic. Soon to have a 350 crate motor. Shooting for 300rwhp.

      the project:
check the www for pics, but a '36 Chevy Master Sedan, MII front end, Jaguar IRS, '93 LT1 powerplant with plans for 350rwhp, and many many other goodies

The plain black one really isnt that bad......but any graphics on the side - and its a deffinate ricer.

I like the all black one. I would just do the body kit and some nice crome exhuast tips anything more and it would not look only ricer, but tacky and cluttered.

I like the kit. Looks pretty good, but definitely NO graphics and just one Smooth color. The White and Black look good. You have got to keep an F-body smooth looking like everybody else said. I really liked the rear of the car. Looked very clean. When I get me another F-body, I will look into this kit.

What he said. I don't think it looks too ricey at all, but again, no graphics on the sides. I have actually been looking at this kit for some time now, but I want to get the guts beefed up before I go for cosmetics. On another note, I would look for a cheaper place to get this kit. If I recall correctly, I found this kit for under $600. If I find it again I'll be sure and post a link.

Sorry, don't like it at all.... Personally I think body kits are for imports. F-bodies look good stock, with the exception of the stock hoods. That's my opinion and I am stickin to it.

I like the look of the all back one or even the red w/ white stripes (minus the fin). But i think the money could be put to better use, even if he got it for $600 shipped... your still having to get it painted, installed, etc. So atleast $700 for dead weight... i guess he could take the spare tire & jack out to compensate.

-Just think $700 could be put to better use... But it doesnt look ricey (w/out the vinyl).

the only body kit i agree with is the RS. In my opinion fbodies arent meant to have them. I am one of the guys where its how the car runs, not how it sits there. I think if he wants a body kit, he should sell the z, get a honda, get a body for that and have some left over money

I totally agree. The only body kit I like is the factory RS one. And I still dont think that I would do it. This one posted here is one of the nicer ones I've seen but to me an f-body just needs to be lowered with some nice rims and it is perfect. I think the only body kit I would put on is if I got the centre exhaust and put the body extensions in the back. But thats just me.
