Can anyone tell me if its normal for the speedometer to only go to 110? I have a 93 formula and every other camaro/ firebird has a higher speedo. i havent even been able to find another person with a 110mph.

The 110mph speeometer was "standard" on the Formula and TA. You got the 155mph speedo by getting the "performance" axle ratio and/or Z-rated tires. Your Formula will also have a speed limiter built into the computer, which should be in the range of 112mph. The speed limiter was raised to 255mph (default max on an 8-bit binary field) when you ordered the Z-rated tires.Fred

Can you get the performance axle if you have a performance speedo. I have the 110 and I'm pretty sure I have 3.42 gears can you tell by the VIN? Also do you have to get computer tuning to put in a 155 speedo?1994 Firebird Formula, M6, Fan switch, 160 thermostat, Pacesetter LT headers, Morosso CAI, TB bypass, True duals.

I have an m6 in my formula and have put Z rated tires on it and am probably gonna have it taken off when I get computer tune for a cam just because I hate the fact I have a performace car that can only run 110. So is my axle the 3.42 because I have the m6?1994 Firebird Formula, M6, Fan switch, 160 thermostat, Pacesetter LT headers, Morosso CAI, TB bypass, True duals.

Yes. ALL 1994-2002 F-Body M6's came from the factory with 3.42 gears. It was just the 1993's that have the 2.73's and 3.23's, because they use T56 trannies with steeper 1st gears.Fred
