  • car falls out at 5000-5500 rpm

i recently bought a 95 Z28 and noticed that around 5000-5500 rpm is misses and just sits there missing, barely making it to the shift point. everything before it does this seems smooth. the car has a few mods that i can see, just little things like cold air induction, exhaust, taylor wires. what could be making the car do this? time for a new cap and rotor maybe?
    thanks

It could be anything from fuel, to ignition problems. It could also be that you Knock Module is detecting false knock. I had a similar problem with my car, and after replacing the LT1 Knock Module with the less sesitive LT4 KM, the problem was gone!
