and part 2 ... How many Transam convertables were built in 1999
of which how many were navy blue ?

I have a 97 T/A and the VIN starts the same as yours. No W.

      Here's some info

      http://www.f-body.com/forum/showthre...ght=production
97 Trans Am A4 more or less stock (Mods: WS6 Ram Air with Fernco & K&N, 12 disc CD changer, power antenna, SLP Fan Switch, LS1 Aluminum DS, Borla Cat back, McCord power plate, Spohn tower brace, Sirius, HID fog lights)

The "sequence number" is only the last 5 digits. The "2" is there before the last 5 digits on the Pontiacs, and there is a "1" before the last 5 digits on the Chevys.

They only used "S" (Firebird) and "V" (Formula/TA) in the VIN sequence in the 4th Gens.
