    bare block, no cam, crank, rods or anything except main caps on.
    93 Z28: LT1, AT, 3.73, Insulated IATS, pcmforless.com custom computer program, CAI, BBK 52mm TB, 160 thermo...etc..

    The LS1 block is made of 319 aluminum heat-treated to the T5 standard by the Montupet Corporation of Ontario, Canada. It is cast using the semi-permanent mold technique which Juriga described as "....a cross between die-casting and sand-casting." The case weighs 107 lb. Compared to the Gen II's 160 lb. block, that’s a significant weight saving.

      My a LT1 block is in the garage. I will stick it on the scale tonight and post it's exact weight.

        how did you post that pic of your car under your post? my car looks alot like yours only in Black..

          It wasn't easy but I managed to balance the block on my scale! It weighed in at 214 lbs with the main caps.
