    sudden onset.

The "courtesy" fuse is blowing. I replace it and within 2-3 seconds it blows again--the obvious answer is an short in the circuit somewhere.

Now I know that the fuse controls the mirror lights inside, and the power door lock motors to unlock the doors, but ...

    1. does it control anything else (everything I can think of still works)?

    2. any expereicne with this circuit or with this problem?

    3. Any suggestions?

BTW, the power door locks do still lock when I activate the alarm with the key fob, but I must open the door with the key.

    Any help appreciated.

Mine did the same thing for about a week. It stopped by itself and I still don't know what caused it.

it could be that a wire in the door got pinched and is grounding now id open ur doors and take a look at the wire harnes going from the door to the chasis either the little elbo that covers the wire will be ripped or it is one of the conectors..like say where the elbo connects to the door..understand that?? sry im not to good at explaining things

also check wiring anywhere you may have worked lately...... installed speakers? something under the dash? in the console? the dumb little lites for the ash tray or glove box, or console box.

The 2000 Camaro owner's manual says that the courtesty fuse powers the BCM. Maybe there is a problem with it or the wire from the fuse to there.

BCM=Body Control Module. It has the alarm, keyless entry delayed light control and some other stuff in it. It is usually under the right side of the dash, attached to the blower duct.

Sorry for the long delay in asking a further question--been on vacation. The alarm still works on my car, as does eveythng else I can check EXCEPT the power door locks, and come to think of it the delayed inside lights (the mirror lights don't work either). I am thinking that perhaps something in teh power door lock switch on teh drivers side door may have gotten screwed because of some water from the windshield wipers when i had the window open. Does this sound reasonable? Or could it be the whole BCM? What are we talking about parts wise here, any idea?
