  • Bad EGR....

My friend has a Honda Passport and the dealer said that his EGR valve is clogged...or that EGR isn't working. Every now and then his engine cuts off...

Is it okay that he continue to drive with a bad EGR?

    Thanks in advance...

It may leave him stranded like mine did. If it hangs open, it won't start.

they aren' that hard to check. if it is just clogged, take it off and un-clog it and the manifold passage that it goes to. Dig out the carbon. problems are worse if the diaphragm is ruptured cause then you got a vacuum leak too. The EGR keeps your engine out of pre-ignition when under light load cruise. if it craps out you might get some pinging.
