  • 95 z28 six speed GROWLS at low rpm & speed.

Hello, I have a 1995 z28 lt1 six speed. When you are usually in 2nd gear and up and at below 1000 RPM and driving slow, such as around corners or driveway etc. the transmission growls and roars a bit. It is very noticable but quickly goes away when you speed up slightly or reach above 1000 RPM. Is this normal for this transmission or should I be worried, it has 65K and drives very well.
    Thanks

That is not uncommon. When you apply throttle in a higher gear below 1000 RPM, you create quite a bit of load on the motor, especially the crankshaft.

You are hearing the additional crankshaft harmonics being transferred through the transmission due to the increased load on the motor.
