    I was just curious does the actually stock spoiler do anything for down force? Or is it just there for looks?

    I dont think it provides any substantial downforce. It is part of the cars styling.

    You do realize, that under 100 mph or so downforce from a spoiler is really not an issue. Where are you driving so fast you need an aerodynamically correct spoiler?

    Those large wing type spoilers are looked at as a useless ricer mod. You wouldnt do that to a F-body, would you?

        have you ever seen the iroc series that run the ram air trans am? they had to extend the spoiler to get the amount of downforce needed to control the cars at such high speeds. so no the spoiler does not add significant downforce even at nascar speeds. funny note when they di extend the spoilers they did it in clear lexan so the cars would still appear to be stock. And what a cool looking race car it did make
