my 93 ta has fuel pressure readings of 40 lbs when the ignition is switched on. from what ive read that is lower than it should be. my car takes several (3-6) seconds to crank. i also have an air/fuel gauge but it shows im running rich when the car is started but levels out after driving it for several minutes. could my fuel pressure cause my car to take so long to crank?im thinking it runs rich because of fuel build up while cranking.should i get a fuel pressure regulator and raise the pressure? i bought a msd 6a thinking that would help but nothing. please help

Could be an injector leaking, causing an over rich hard starting. Hopw quickly does the pressure bleed off once the car is turned off? It should hold steady and not bleed down within 20 minutes. If the pressure drops , suspect leaking injector(s). you could pull the injectors and rails up while still keeping the fuel line connected. Turn the key to the run position to pressurize the fuel rail and see if any injectors leak.

When they leak, rarely will a backflush and cleaning do anything. Best to just replace.
i took my fuel rails off this weekend and checked the injectors.two of them leaked when i powered the fuel pump plus my o-rings are shot. sinse im buying new injectors anyways should i get some 26lb or would that just add to much fuel and cost me power?93 black trans am (under construction)
