    Ken,

I had the tires off of my wife's minivan today to inspect/clean the brakes and do some other pm, and noticed that the tires have areas of indentations on them. They run from the rim to the tread, front and back. Some of the tires have more than one of these areas, all have at least one. This can't be normal can it? It looks to me like a broken belt or something, but I'm not a expert on tire construction. Are these tires safe to drive on? Your help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Dave M

    Thanks,
there are no belts in the sidewalls...they are contructed of a cord body.......

i would need to see a pic of it to determne the seriousness of it... because sometimes.. that occurs from the molds being worn... or too hot of a post cure.. but... irregular shaped bulges in the middle/upper sidewall area may progress to commplete separation of the sidewall rubber from the casing exposing the ply cords...

this happens because of loss of adhesion between the sidewall rubber and body ply.......
