Ive been planning on some serious mods in addition to my minor mods (air box lid, MAF, cutouts, 3.73's, hypertech powerprogrammer) to my 01 SS. I wanted to supercharge it with ATI's procharger with 6-7 psi which should get me anywhere from 470-500rwhp (I've got 335 as it is). This should run me somewhere around $6000 installed. I was however considering getting a nice agressive TSP 231/237 .598 .595 112+2 cam (thanks to fastTA's help in making a descision) with some Kooks Pace setter LT's and an offroad Y pipe along with a 85 or 100 shot of nitrous. That combo of mods should run me a bit less money I suspect. Correct me if I'm wrong, please. And get me comparable horsepower. About how much of a gain should i expect from the TSP 231/237 .598 .595 112+2 cam, the headers, y pipe, and nitrous (with the cutouts)? For the money is the supercharger that much better or not worth that much if i could get the other mods? Thanks a lot for anything you can help me with.

I wont guess on the power you will get, but I personally like the N2O because its only there when you want it. The SC is spinning all the time, constantly giving the motor the boost every time you wanna get into it a little bit - its hard on the motor.96 WS6 Formula: Ram Air, 383 Stroker, Ported LT4 Heads and Manifold, 1.6 Crane Rollers, 58MM T.B., AS&M Headers, Borla Exhaust, Meziere Elec. Nitrous is definitely nice like N20LT4Bird said because it is available on command but not always if you don't want it. Going the N2O route would definitely be easier on your wallet, and a 125 shot would be fine on your stock botttom end considering proper installation and tune.
Do plan on keeeping the heads stock?
It is always hard to just guess how much power you will make but with stock heads, a LS6 intake, all bolt-ons, LT's, the TSP 231/237, and a 125 shot, 500-520 RWHP should be easily obtainable.

im personally leaning towards the nitrous and cam/headers route my self, im not sure about the heads, are the heads a big deal? expensive? significant power gain? I definatly dont want to much stress on my engine, plan on keeping it as long as i can (it has 46000 miles as of now).2001 Camaro SS, ATI P1-SC Procharger 7 psi pulley (for now muah ha ha), MAC headers, MAC off road Y-Pipe, MAC "Cat Back", K&N, Richmond Racing 3.73's, Hypertech Power Programmer III custom programmed for Procharger, Subframe Connectors, Z06 rims (17x9.5, 18x10.5) BFG G-Force 315/30/18's. I wouldn't push the stock bottom ednd much over 430-450 RWHP. It can handle more but it is a gamble. If you really plan on making 450+ RWHP, the bottom end should receive just as much attention as the top end.
Maybe for now, just do a mild cam and a 125-150 shot.

LS6 intake manifold? Dont those add like 15HP for like $500? Doesn't sound worth it, or is that something that would be a must have with the nitrous and cam? What is "stock bottom end"?2001 Camaro SS, ATI P1-SC Procharger 7 psi pulley (for now muah ha ha), MAC headers, MAC off road Y-Pipe, MAC "Cat Back", K&N, Richmond Racing 3.73's, Hypertech Power Programmer III custom programmed for Procharger, Subframe Connectors, Z06 rims (17x9.5, 18x10.5) BFG G-Force 315/30/18's. If you do go with a significantly bigger cam(220-229 range), the composite LS6 intake manifold would be a good investment.
Don't buy a new one though. Just do a search in the For Sale sections of some of the popular LS1 sites. Like www.ls1tech.com. They can be had for less than $250 if you look hard enough.
Just make sure if you intend to still use your EGR system, that the intake manifold has the provisioned holes in the back of the intake.

(http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW) This is a link to an LS6 manifold on ebay. EGR is an emissions control system. (Exhaust Gas Recirculation). It is designed to reduce combustion chamber temps by introducing an inert gas (burned exhaust) to the air fuel mix. Lower combustion temps reduces the oxides of nitrogen produced. If you live in a place where emissions is an issue, you will have to retain the EGR system.96 WS6 Formula: Ram Air, 383 Stroker, Ported LT4 Heads and Manifold, 1.6 Crane Rollers, 58MM T.B., AS&M Headers, Borla Exhaust, Meziere Elec. LMAO ha ha ha emission...not an issue and definately not concerned about emissions. Sorry green peace. Thanks tho, did you look at that link? If so will that fit? About doing the bottom end and such, i'd rather just get the big cam that i know i like, the headers, Y pipe, and LS6 manifold without the nitrous and not have to worry about having to re-do anything with the bottom and or having too many problems. Without the nitrous i shouldn't be in danger of goin over 440/450 rwhp i wouldnt guess, right?2001 Camaro SS, ATI P1-SC Procharger 7 psi pulley (for now muah ha ha), MAC headers, MAC off road Y-Pipe, MAC "Cat Back", K&N, Richmond Racing 3.73's, Hypertech Power Programmer III custom programmed for Procharger, Subframe Connectors, Z06 rims (17x9.5, 18x10.5) BFG G-Force 315/30/18's. I was thinking about how much stress the supercharger would put on my engine and looked at some ATI stuff and they say that their P-1SC supercharger (5-7 psi) doesn't come into boost until 2600 RPM. So i took a drive and unless i was really trying to get on it, i never really broke 2500 RPM. So in theory the supercharger is there just when you really need it or want it as well.2001 Camaro SS, ATI P1-SC Procharger 7 psi pulley (for now muah ha ha), MAC headers, MAC off road Y-Pipe, MAC "Cat Back", K&N, Richmond Racing 3.73's, Hypertech Power Programmer III custom programmed for Procharger, Subframe Connectors, Z06 rims (17x9.5, 18x10.5) BFG G-Force 315/30/18's.
