  • Bumper with dead bugs

I've been using Meguiar's NXT weekly to keep my Wax job looking great. Its quick, easy and looks great but its only a top layer. What Meguiar product can I use to remove the bugs, tree sap, and bird **** off my car? Wax Cleaner???? The bumper doesn't look good with grasshopper guts impregnated on it at 100MPH

    Update

I don't want this to become another Zaino thread is there anyone on here who uses Wax or Wax cleaners?

if you used Zaino show car polish instead, the bugs woudnt stick...... wipe right off with even water and a cotton towel...... and it layers ...the more layers the better. nxt does not layer..it has solvents in it... so when you apply a coat..it removes the coat under it.......

    just a suggesion

Thanks - I am going to stick with one wax product

If what you said is true then I will start using Meguiar's Final Inspection.

      Anyone else?

You can stick with "one line" -Zaino. They have products of all types, and are very high quality. The "wax" actually contains no wax, it is a polymer that contains no solvents and layers on your car. It provides incredible show quality shines. It fills swirl marks instantly, and it is simple to maintain. I can flick bugs off my car with my finger, they never stick. The stuff is simply amazing, and I can truely say after years of using Mothers wax and other products I will never use anything but Zaino again. There are alot of very respected people here with alot of experience with the product. It is tested and proven to be far superior to anything else.

Why don't you want this to become another Zaino thread? It can't help but become another Zaino thread because Zaino is simply the best there is. It's easy and natural to be skeptical of something that sounds so good, but everything you've heard is true. Once you use it, there is no going back. It is as easy as any other brand to use, and it gives far better protection and shine than ANYTHING on the market. Is there something specific you have against Zaino?

Yes there is its not compatible with the 3 Layers of Meguiar's I had put on by a detail shop after double claybaring.

Now I already got my answers

Meguires wax does not layer. It contains solvents and each time you apply it, it removes the previous application. You are wasting your time and money by applying 3 layers of that stuff. Not only that, but Meguires is not as optically transparent as Zaino. It will actually put a slight haze in the finish.

I'm not going to turn this into a Zaino thread, but I will tell you something that you probably won't want to hear..........

Wax products are self leveling. This means that it won't build up layers..... and that is by design. The only thing that you are doing by using more than one coat of wax is getting uniform coverage. There are many systems from different manufacturers that will perform at an acceptable level to the masses. The problem with wax is that it isn't durable. In order to acheive the proper protective properties you would have to wax every week if the car stayed outside. UV rays, heat, road grime, etc all quickly break down waxes at a faster rate than other formulas. If you are determined to use wax, then get their wax product, mist detailer and car wash. It is the only way to have a fighting chance of keeping the finish protected, if you could call it that. If you understood the chemical makeup of wax based products, you might change your mind. This is from 30 years detailing experience.........
