  • Drive train vibration! Need Your Help!

    Hi Guys!

    I have a 1997 Z28! It has 80K miles on it.

I have a vibration 60MPH-UP. It makes the glove box rattle. Worse in Overdrive but can be noticed in 3rd. It doesn't do it when decelerating.

I don't hear a thump either. What do you guys think? The transmission or tranny mount?

Please tell me what you think I should do?

    Thanks Lee!

could be an out of balance drive shaft. gm had a tsb on them for 96 and some 97's. i got ours replaced under warranty with the aluminum drive shaft which is now o.e. on 98 + f bodies.

Exactly what I was thinking, plus it could also be in the U joint. Any non concentricity and you'll get vibrations that will get worse as the road speed increases.
