Finally got the Z running again after the flood on Sunday. Had to take out the Spark Plugs and get all tyhe water out of the engine. Jeez what a job. I got six of em out and then got my friend, the miracle worker, to help get the other two on the passenger side out. After that I cranked it over till the water came out and put em back in and prayed it'd run and it did
. Man I was happy when it started up and finally began to idle nice. I changed the oil since there was some water in it and it seems to be running fine (just got back from a little test drive).
Now I just need to get the inside dry. Carpet is dry for the most part but the padding under the front seats and rear floor boards is still pretty damp if you stick your hand under there(I sucked all the actual water out from under the carpet with a shop vac). I plan on sitting it in the sun and I put some "Damp Rid" buckets to help soak up moisture. Do you think this will be enough or should I bite the bullet and yank the carpet out to dry? Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks for your help. I will be careful about "flood zones" from now on even if I have to walk alot further it's worth it.
