  • ***new bumper swap***

I recently had an accident in my 97 Formula Firebird and i put a hole in my front bumber and a lot of scratches on it, (the thing needs to go) Is it possible to have the 98-02 front bumber put on instead of the 97 style? If so how hard would be it be, and how much to install? thanks

You would have to swap the entire front end, from the doors forward. (hood, both fenders, nose, headlights) It has been done, bit is quite a project and requires a little creativity to get everything to fit properly.

I would recommend getting the proper 1997 nose to repair it.

For a 98+ front end conversion you're looking at over $1,000.00 just for the parts, then comes the labor. Ouch. You're better off just replacing it with that year's front end.

Depending on how resourceful you are, all of these front end conversion parts can be had for a fraction of what they would normally cost.

I am converting my 97 WS6 to the 98+ front end and so far I have managed to buy the fenders, front bumper support, front bumper cover, and both headlight assemblies for less than $600. All I have to buy now is the hood.

If you have the money and the time, go for it!

look into what you plan on for this car...
          long term---keeping it for 10 years+ or
short term---are u planning on selling it within the next couple years.
When i was looking for this camaro i ran into many 93-97 that had 98+ front ends on them and they were all junk. Personally i would never buy a car unless it was completely factory stock...
was it wrecked or rusted i would suggest leaving the stock front end.
you'll never get it perfect and sounds like your trying to bargain your way
          just something to think about.
