There are many who run more power than that though the stock trans, but if you want something built strong, try this:

The current issue of National Dragster has an article on the G-Force T5 and T56 upgrades. They have a 600HP T5 and a 900HP T56. They accomplish this with upgraded parts kits, including input shafts, new cluster shaft with gears, new straight cut 1-2-3 gears and (in the T5) dog-rings in place of synchros (in the T56) triple-cone synchros. They also offer 3 different sets of gear ratios for the T56, including:

      2.98 - 1.99 - 1.35 - 1.00 - .83 - .63
      2.71 - 1.79 - 1.30 - 1.00 - .86 - .63
      2.62 - 1.73 - 1.35 - 1.00 - .83 - .63

      The T56 top-of-the-line parts kit is $2,195.

D&D also sells upgraded parts and complete trannies.

I've asked the same question in response to a PM.... really need to know what "broke" before being able to really help. Also pointed out that many people are making way more than 500HP and not "breaking" T56's.

I have mishifted mine at the track (prior to the pro 5.0). 1-2-1.....oops, probably doing 80 mph+. I was using a 100 horse shot of N20 which puts me quite a bit above 500 HP. The rear tires locked up, the motor bounced off the rev limiter. I blew the clutch right out THROUGH the bellhousing, shattering everything to bits. The T56 didnt even squirm........
