I have an 87 camaro which has a SBC and TH-350. Where the transmission crossmember bolts up there are three holes on each frame rail, I have the crossmember that fits the rear two holes, but the transmission mount doesn't line up, and the crossmember isn't long enough to bolt up to the front two holes in the frame. The question is "Are there two different crossmembers for this car?"

Re: X-mission crossmember ??
I had this same problem once (about 13 years ago), but my memory is cloudy. I was installing a TH350 in my 1986 Camaro. If I recall correctly, I had to run the driveshaft and crossmember from a earlier 3rd gen Z28. Those early ones came with TH200's in them and the length was the same as a TH350. The TH700r4 your car had stock is a different length than the TH350. I went to a local salvage yeard with fitment questions and they gave me the correct parts. I'm thinking I may have needed a different length torque arm also.Originally posted by alc8179

I also have some recollection of modifying the stock crossmember slightly trying to get it to work... I cant remember if I was able to now.
It was so long ago.... Sorry I cannot remember better.Tracy
