700R4 Problem

My 700R4 is slipping real bad all of the sudden.. from 1-2 and 2-3. I've toyed with the idea of flushing it and replacing the filter but have heard horror stories of death and destruction from others who tried this. Get some stopslip stuff from autozone?

Basically you don't have too much of a choice. Either the fluid and filter will fix it or you'll need a rebuild.
