  • NFB: Apache Combat footage

Hey guys. I don't know if you guys have seen this video. Many of you probably have.

    http://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/APA401A.html

It's of an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter killing 3 Iraqis, a tractor and two trucks in a field. Never mind the "massacre" stuff on the indymedia web. Their motive was very obvious.

I spent over six months as an ER nurse at LSA Anaconda near Balad, Iraq (About 1 hour northwest of Baghdad, halfway to Tikrit). I remember seeing (what was left) some Iraqi Bodies brought to the body cooler near our hospital. One guy was split in half. The guys told me they got waxed by an Apache. I am only going by another individuals word but an MP friend of mine stationed on my base said these three individuals were suspected of firing either mortars or rockets into our base. They were given the tasking of cleaning up their bodies off the field. He said the guy in the middle, his shoes/feet/ankles were still standing up when they got to the scene.

This video fails to show why they were fired on. A longer version shows two guys an separate trucks meeting and talking when one suddenly runs out and drops a tube (Either a Mortar or RPG) in the field and a guy on a tractor meeting up with them. They couldn't hear or see the Apache 2-3 miles away viewing them on their optics. I never asked what the tube was the guys dropped into the field. These guys were responsible for approx 15 injuries on my base, one person lost their leg. About 3-5 people died from these type of attacks on my base since I left. If you guys find the full version of the video let me know. Pay no attention to the accusations of massacres and unjustified killing. After watching some video of what media taped in my ER from what I saw versus when I was there they have totally manipulated what we said to portray a bleak situation in Iraq. I'm extremely skeptical of all western media with questionable motives and their journalists. I felt like I was talking to an attorney.

The liberal media never fails to paint that kind of picture of war. People dont get it.......this will turn into another Vietnam if we (Americans) dont stand behind our president and the cause. The media definately doesnt help.

People think its soooo horrendous to put underwear on the heads of our Iraqi POW's and make them stand around naked. Big deal. Its WAR, not candyland. THEY CHOP THE HEADS OFF OUR GUYS.

I know...if anyone of us were POW's over there, we'd be dead by now. They apparently don't care about race, look at the Korean guy that got chopped, my gosh, they even rigged teh body to explode. I just don't understand why the media is so critical... Bush got my backing 100%...

I'm not a weapons expert but guys I talked to said the Apache will often be armed with 30mm High Explosive rounds in the cannon. This helps to ensure a near miss is a hit. It's funny when the liberal media I read on the site accused them of "War Crimes" for using these weapons. Apparrantly they weren't in my ER when we had to pronounce dead a Sergeant Major when an RPG landed on his lap who left behind a wife and three children.

Our guys need our support. I really appreciated your guys encouragement before I left and while I was over there.

I have seen that video before and showed it to a friend who was in the army in Op. Desert Storm. He says he thinks its doctored or fake because it would be noisy on the cockpit of the apache but listen to the audio, its fairly quiet excpet for the guys talking and the gun. What do you guys think?

I started to send this yesterday but decided not to.

I saw that a while back too. It said it was a video of an AC-130 gun ship. I find it hard to believe that the information shown is from an AH-64. I don't see the airspeed and altitude on it. I see the compass heading on it.

The company I work for used to make the plastic nose piece on the hellfire missile. Rockwell was the prime for the hellfire. Rockwell sent us a cockpit video taken from the turkey shoot on the road from Kuwait to Iraq in the Gulf War. The camera was mounted in the cockpit looking over the shoulder of one of them.

I don't recall the AH-64 having a HUD. It uses the eyepiece mounted on the helmet. Maybe they have a way of piping just the FLIR to a recorder now. I would think it would record what the eyepiece displayed and that would have the flight information on it which appears to be missing.

As for the web site, pure propaganda. The situation in Iraq would be a whole lot better if the liberals, the liberal media, and the liberal countries of the world would help the situation in Iraq instead of hurting it they way they are now. If the liberals were as loving as they claim to be, they would be helping instead of hurting.
